Facial Rejuvenation

Facial Cosmetic Surgery and Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Treatments

To help our Fairfield eye care patients accentuate their natural beauty and combat nagging sign of facial aging, we offer a range of facial plastic surgery procedures and non-surgical treatments, including:

Cosmetic Brow Lift

Cosmetic browlift surgery addresses droopy eye brows, frown lines (vertical lines between the eye brows), wrinkling across the forehead and similar signs of aging that can begin to appear as early as your 30s. By lifting the eyebrows and correcting other irregularities around the eyes, we help our patients achieve a more youthful look and a more animated and alert facial appearance.

Our nationally recognized oculofacial surgeon performs several types of brow lift that are customized to correct your unique cosmetic concerns. Cosmetic brow lift is an outpatient procedure that is performed under local or general anesthesia. The surgery is generally completed within one to two hours. Although scarring is minimal, surgical incisions are created along the hairline, where they are easily covered by hair and/or makeup.

Full brow lift recovery is achieved in two to three weeks, although you should be able to return to work and other daily activities within 10 days of surgery. Our OCC surgical team will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions, and you will be monitored closely during your recuperation. Mild forehead and scalp numbness is normal and usually subsides within a few months.

The cosmetic brow lift procedure can make you look up to 10 years younger and can be combined with eyelid lift surgery or mid facelift for the best aesthetic results.

Mid Facelift

Mid facelift surgery is performed to enhance the appearance of the middle third of the face, thereby improving age-related nose-to-mouth lines and droopy cheeks.

During the procedure, the natural fatty layer of the cheekbones is repositioned and tightened for a more youthful look. Surgical incisions are generally placed along the hairline and/or on the inside of the mouth. In some cases, the mid face lift can also be performed via incisions in the lower eyelid and combined with eyelid lift surgery.

The mid face lift is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis and is generally completed within one to two hours. This procedure offers subtle aesthetic improvements that can make you look dramatically younger, especially if you are suffering from sagging cheeks and skin laxity in the nasolabial area.

After mid facelift surgery, most patients experience minimal discomfort and swelling, which generally improve within seven to 10 days. At this time, patients are able to return to work and their daily routine. Full recovery is achieved within a few weeks. During your recovery time, you will be asked to follow specific aftercare instructions and will receive continued care from our OCC medical team.

Botox

Botox Cosmetic is a facial injectable that is used to soften moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet, lip lines and neckband creases for up to six months. Botox is derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, a low-dose toxin that disrupts the release of a certain chemical in the face that triggers muscle contractions resulting in facial wrinkles.

Botox is administered via an injection directly into the wrinkle-causing muscles. The procedure is generally completed within 15 to 30 minutes. An ice pack or topical anesthetic is used for maximum patient comfort.

Botox does not require any downtime. Mild swelling at the injection site is common and subsides quickly. Botox results are fully obvious within one week and can last anywhere from three to six months.

Facial Fillers

Unlike Botox, which disrupts the contraction of wrinkle-causing muscles, facial fillers are administered to restore facial volume and fill in depressions, including wrinkles and lines. Depending on your unique aesthetic desires, a facial filler may be the perfect solution to reduce signs of aging without the need for surgery or downtime.

Our oculofacial surgeon administers a range of advanced facial fillers, including Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Captique and Perlane. After a thorough consultation, he will help you decide which facial filler is best for you.

Facial fillers are administered via injection under a local anesthetic. The treatment time is usually less than 30 minutes, after which patients may return to their daily routine without the need for an extensive recovery. Mild bruising and swelling at the injection site is normal and subsides quickly. The aesthetic results are generally visible right away and, depending on the type of filler you receive, may last anywhere from six to 12 months.
